Hopkins County Schools recognizes that bullying is an issue in all public schools, and we wish to do our part to minimize bullying in our district. This page explains the steps to report bullying in Hopkins County Schools. You will find our policies and reporting forms at this link. We have also provided several external links for parents of students who have been bullied.
How to Report Bullying
- Students who are being bullied should tell their teacher and parent/guardian. Either the parent/guardian or teacher needs to complete the bullying reporting form, and give it to an administrator at the school. The administrator will investigate, document findings, and inform the parents.
- Teachers who suspect a student is being bullied should complete a Bullying Reporting Form and inform an administrator. If bullying is occurring in the teacher’s class, he/she will take immediate steps to prevent further incidents. The administrator will investigate, document findings and inform parents.
- Parents may report bullying by talking to an administrator at the school. The Bullying Reporting Form must be completed. The administrator will investigate, document findings and inform parents.
- Bus Incidents: When bullying occurs on a bus, students/parents are encouraged to report the incident to a teacher or school administrator as well as the bus driver.
Our district uses an online tipline. Students and others can use this online link to anonymously report suspicious activity.
Not in My School
Through CrimeStoppers of Hopkins County, high school students may text tips of bullying and criminal activity to the school resource officer. Madisonville North Hopkins students should text tips to 270-245-7737. Hopkins County Central students should text 270-245-7654.
