To begin the 2020-2021 school year, preschool will begin following the HCSathome guidelines. These guidelines are being followed to ensure the health and safety of you and your child. We are committed to providing your child and family an exceptional preschool experience.  Part of that exceptional experience is providing you the opportunity to work with your child at home and help them learn and practice skills needed to help them become successful.

Hopkins County Preschool is providing developmentally appropriate instruction for your child to learn at home. The preschool program is also providing a variety of learning tools and materials, along with a parent guide that will be delivered to you to assist you in helping your child to become successful. Instructional videos will be posted to a variety of platforms by your child’s teacher and preschool staff.

Our preschool staff have prepared engaging instructional videos that will be posted to a  variety of platforms such as classroom YouTube channels, Google Classroom, Zoom, classroom Facebook groups, and the Remind app on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday for your child. In addition, each family will receive a preschool learning tools kit designed especially for our preschool curriculum and the developmental needs of your child.. You will receive the preschool Week-at-a-Glance document that will clearly outline the weekly expectations for you and your child. Participation in the weekly instruction and home activities is essential in preparing your child in becoming school ready. Our staff will be supporting you in this partnership with weekly communication and assessing your child’s progress through virtual work samples submission. #HCSatHome is a true partnership in your child’s learning.

    Preschool Learning Tool Kit Pick-Up

     Preschool Learning Tool Kit

In order for you to receive your child’s Preschool Learning Tool Kit in the safest manner, we will be offering a drive-by pick up at your child’s preschool site or porch delivery.  Your child will need these materials on Monday, August 31 to participate on the first day of preschool.

Preschool staff will provide you with your child’s Preschool Learning Tool Kit and ask that you complete any needed application components.  If your child is new  to our program, the completion of the paperwork may take 15 minutes.  We will be offering drive-by pickup on Tuesday, August 25 from 10am to 4pm. If you are unable to make the drive-by pick-up time, please make arrangements with your child's teacher for porch delivery.

Parents will utilize the car rider line at each preschool site.  We will place the needed application components on a clipboard for you to complete.  Once the forms are completed, your child’s Preschool Learning Tool Kit will be provided.  We ask that you stay in your vehicle until you see that the materials are ready for you.  The staff will signal for you when they are ready with your child’s materials.  If you schedule a porch delivery, we will adhere to the same social distancing procedures and ask that you meet our staff outside to complete all needed paperwork.   We appreciate your cooperation with this process and your assistance in keeping your family and our staff safe.
