Round 3 of P-EBT Benefits
Hopkins County Schools families will receive benefits from Round 3 of the Pandemic-Electronic Benefits Transfer stimulus.
The first allotment will cover October 2020 through February 2021. Benefits are expected to go out beginning the week of March 15. P-EBT, a program administered by the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services, is intended to help families buy groceries for children who normally have access to the USDA National School Lunch Program.
Benefits will automatically be added to the student’s previous P-EBT card they received in the fall. SNAP recipients will see the benefit added to their SNAP card. Families that no longer have the previous card may request a replacement by contacting the Cabinet for Health and Family Services at the number listed below. New students will automatically be mailed a new card.
P-EBT amounts are specific to the most common learning model in the student’s school district. The Hopkins County School district primarily operated under a virtual model for the months included in the first installment of Round 3. Students will receive benefits for 20 days for each of those months. The daily rate is $6.82 per student.
Moving forward, CHFS considers the district to be predominately operating under a hybrid model. According to CHFS guidelines, this means our students will receive 12 days of benefits each month from March through May. Students enrolled in the Remote Learning Program may be able to receive monthly benefits for 8 additional days, for a total of 20 days each month if they request a reconsideration of benefits from CHFS. Those benefits are scheduled to be issued on the 25th day of the following month.
If you have questions or want to request a reconsideration of benefits, please call CHFS at 1-855-306-8959. Do not contact your school or the district office because Hopkins County staff will not be able to answer your questions.
